Katmai Bear Viewing and Tours in Alaska
Alaska Grizzly Safaris & Jacques Adventure Lodge is the ultimate destination for photographers, fishermen, and adventure travelers. We provide one of the worlds most unique and authentic wilderness experiences available. You will have a personal pilot, a guide, and aircraft capable of tundra or water landing, at your full disposal. Our lodge is located on the north shore of Lake Iliamna, conveniently nestled between Katmai National Park, Lake Clark National Park, and Bristol Bay.
We are surrounded by 18 million acres of roadless, untamed wilderness. The majestic Lake Iliamna is Alaska's Largest Lake, and the place we have called home for 39 years. Our watershed has the largest salmon migration on the planet, with over 12 million salmon returning to spawn every summer. If you have ever dreamed of venturing to Alaska in pursuit of world renown fly fishing or to capture breath-taking photos of the great Alaskan brown bear, the Jacques family adventure lodge would be delighted to have you.
We have 5 dedicated aircraft, exclusively reserved for the use of our 12 guests. With 2 float planes (seaplanes) and 3 tundra-tire bush planes are ready to take you where you need to go. We also have 14 boats staged in 14 strategic locations, ready for use. Our bush-flying safaris will take you over glaciers, active volcanoes, spectacular waterfalls, and remote coastline. Coastal brown bears and walrus are our specialties, however, you can plan on seeing wolves, lynx, moose, beaver, caribou, breaching whales, Dall sheep, seals, fox, sea otters, tundra swan, peregrine falcon, and bald eagles. This is the best location on Planet Earth to observe and photograph the giant coastal brown bears in their natural state.
In this pristine wilderness, you will watch bears fishing for salmon, digging for clams, eating sedge grasses or grazing blueberries on the alpine tundra. Visit one of the world's few photographable walrus pods on a remote Baring Sea, black sand beach. Visit traditional native villages or historic homesteads or take a raft or jet boat on wild scenic rivers. The options are limitless when you visit Bristol Bay Sportfishing and Adventure Lodge. We cater to only 12 guests per week, and we customize each day's activity uniquely for you. We have confidence that a trip with us, will certainly exceed your expectations for any wilderness adventure.
Our experienced Alaska bush pilots and licensed guides will safely and quickly get you to where the wildlife is. We make sure you are not stuck in one or two locations, hoping the fish will bite or grizzly bears and other wildlife will arrive. Plus, you will never pay extra for flying! All of the daily fly-outs and guided raft expeditions are included in your trip package. There are no hidden costs!
